Hi everyone! Today I will review The Body Shop’s special edition Frosted Berries body butter. The Body Shop are well known to anyone who’s on the lookout for natural and organic beauty products. And they are even more famous for their body butters! Yes, they smell delectable and have such amazing variants. And like every year, this year also TBS came up with three limited edition bath and body products sometime around Christmas. The variants include – Vanilla Chai, Spiced Apple and Frosted Berries.
I recall there were two similar variants last year – Glazed Apple and Frosted Cranberry. I however think that TBS could have actually brought out completely new fragrances rather than just modifying the last year ones. Nevertheless this year I picked up the Frosted Berries body butter. Vanilla Chai was too sweet for my liking, and although Spiced Apple was an interesting fragrance but it was Frosted Berries that had the right mix of sweet and musk in it.
What The Body Shop says :
Discover our Limited Edition Frosted Berries Body Butter. A rich and delectable treat for softly-sweet skin. With fresh notes of cranberry, blackcurrant, raspberry with white flowers, creamy praline and sweet vanilla for an irresistibly juicy flavor!
It retails for INR 1495 at all TBS stores.
Did you note the Frosted Berries also has notes of creamy praline? How interesting is that! Praline is a form of confection containing at a minimum nuts and sugar; cream is a common third ingredient. (source: wikipedia)
The body butter comes in its usual tub packaging. However being a special edition one it has some blings and sparkles printed on the lid. Pretty packaging sure it is. 🙂
My Overview of The Body Shop Frosted Berries Body Butter –
This body butter caters to the needs of dry skin during the harsh winters because it is extremely hydrating. It has a creamy texture that does not feel heavy or greasy on application. It absorbs amazingly and imparts softness to the skin almost immediately. The Frosted Berries body butter also provides long lasting hydration. I don’t have to worry about re-applying it for the next 12 to 14 hours. However it may be a wee bit heavy for me in summer because Kolkata has very humid summers.
And no TBS post is complete without talking about its fragrance! The Frosted Berries body butter has a very pleasant fruity smell. It may smell incredibly sweet in the tub to some, but once applied I find it to be a balanced note of berries and nuts (check: praline 🙂 ). It also has subtle notes of vanilla. I am however not sure which “white flowers” TBS refers to. But I’m happy to note that although this contains cranberry, but compared to the Frosted Cranberry version last year, the Frosted Berries body butter smells less sweet. I guess it must be because the fragrance is not entirely concentrated on frosted cranberries, rather it is the amalgamation of such interesting notes of vanilla, nuts, black currants along with berries. The fragrance stays put for the next 4-5 hours, which is great!
Overall, The Body Shop Frosted Berries body butter is an excellent moisturizer. I love this product for the moisturization that it provides, along with an amazing fragrance! If you’re into berries and love them, definitely give this a try.
My Rating : 4.7/5
(0.3 deducted for a little lack of innovation 🙁)
