Sunday Diaries : Bahubali 2 & A Day At Quest Mall

Hey everyone! So it was an eventful Sunday with family. Finally caught up with Bahubali 2 : The Conclusion after waiting 2 longs days :P, hopped over to MAC and Kama Ayurveda, and had lunch with family. Now typing away at my desk as I’m so eager to share my day with you! I have a review for Baahubali 2 as well in the post, and it is more because I want to share with you the experience I had with Rajamouli’s brainchild, and less because you actually need it. 😀

My Experience of the Movie :

So finally I did manage to capture three top row seats and catch up with Bahubali 2: The Conclusion. After failed attempts to get tickets in nearby theaters, I eventually landed up in INOX at the Quest Mall. You know that famous question that has been tormenting us Indians for the last two years? Well we all know. And so many of us who made up our mind to watch The Conclusion right after watching the first part. More so because of the visual grandiose that the movie is. 🙂

And so it was. The spectacular presentation of SS Rajamouli, paired with extraordinary performances of his actors all makes the movie “worth a watch”. The special effects churned out beautifully with VFX, make the movie come alive on screen almost as if you are a part of the story. You’ll feel so inclusive, you’ll want to laugh and cry with the characters, you’ll want to chant “Baahubali” with the masses in the movie, and you’ll leave the screen in a trance. Such is the mesmerizing grandeur of Bahubali 2.

Prabhas as Amarendra Bahubali is nothing short of excellent. He’s adorable as a son and lover, and his intelligence and warrior front demand respect. This movie shows the various facets of Bahubali as a man. Prabhas executes each of those meticulously, and clearly demarcates the two different characters that he is playing in the movie. While Amarendra Bahubali is gentle and patient, his son Mahendra is more an angry young man who is baffled at his own life story. And full marks to him for portraying both father and son so diligently. 🙂 And Anushka Shetty as Devasena is fantastic. Her performance is a top notch. She is extremely graceful and poised, and does a full justice to her character. The chemistry of Bahubali and Devasena is so beautiful. There’s such understated yet deeply-felt emotions and an understanding between the two. I love how Anushka gives life to Devasena’s character with her power-packed performance. 🙂

Ramya Krishnan as the queen of Mahismati is just as elegant as in the first part. There’s no denying her skillful portrayal of a bewildered and duty-bound queen in the movie. And we get to see a lot of Rana Daggubati as the power-hungry baddie. We all need that perfect villain to make the good look better, don’t we? 😉 And the father-son duo of Nasser and Rana is one cunning pair. You’d just love to hate them. 😀 Sathyaraj as Kattappa also has more screen space and versatility to showcase in The Conclusion than in The Beginning. And undoubtedly he aces it all. 🙂 Tamannah’s Avanthika has nothing much to do in this movie, and is hugely overshadowed by Anushka’s Devasena. You may not even remember her after the movie is over. Subbaraju as Kumara Varma is quite adept as a good Samaritan to our hero.

Bahubali 2: The Conclusion is an exhilarating, enthralling experience. A must-watch in my opinion. I highly, heavily recommend you to go catch up on this movie if you haven’t yet. The first half of the movie has a uniform pace and you wouldn’t even want to blink an eye. The second half is a little slower however catches up momentum eventually. But nonetheless, Bahubali 2: The Conclusion is a visual treat. If you love war-movies in the likes of Troy, Bahubali 2 is the one to go for. I can hardly express in words the splendor of the movie. Every setup has been immaculately done and makes for a breathtaking view.

Bahubali 2 is that kind of movie that would make you think twice after you watch it. It leaves a lasting impression, and you can’t thank enough for treating yourself to this ocular magnificence. It has the right mix of every emotion like any good story, and additionally powered by amazing direction under the expertise of Sir Rajamouli. After all, it is not every day that a Bahubali is made in the film industry, so go book your tickets for the next show available! 🙂
