Hello everyone! Nudes and pastels are the new haute. While we are already reaching out for pastel summer shades, we all need that perfect all-natural makeup look to pair up. Nudes also wear so well with smoky eyes or bronzed, sculpted look. So they are quite sought after in party-makeup as well, or even while we are holidaying away. And who does not love an MLBB shade? Well Nykaa gets the pulse of Indian women so right with its line of cosmetics, and launches a Nude Lipstick Collection in its So Matte range! We hate smudgy, bleeding lip lines in humid weather so what could be better than a nude lipstick collection that’s also matte? 🙂
Although at times I absolutely love wearing bright fuschia to perk up an everyday look, or a coral or peach at certain other times as well, nude shades are such no-brainers. They even pair so well with every attire we don. So I picked up two shades from Nykaa So Matte Nude Lipstick range: Caramel Mocha (shade no. 21M) and Royal Honey (shade no. 22M).

My Overview of the Product :
Nykaa packs its lipsticks in cuboidal, magnetic black tubes with shade name and number at the bottom of each tube. These lipsticks furthermore come packaged in a trademark Nykaa cardboard boxes. I find the magnetic packaging as well as the clean, sharp edges of the lipstick tubes quite unique and remarkable. Overall a neat yet distinctive packaging, kudos to the team that designed it. 🙂
The texture of Nykaa So Matte Nude lipsticks is creamy and glide on smoothly on the lips without tugging or pulling. The color pay-off is good too, and these give an opaque coverage in just a single swipe. Although pigmented lips may need two swipes for the color to really show. They do not accentuate fine lines on lips, because these do not dry out to a powdery matte finish, rather feel quite creamy on the lips. But again the lips look semi-matte and not glossy. With the Nykaa mattte lipsticks, one can go without a lip balm underneath. 🙂 But yes, these transfer insanely and are everywhere but thanks to the rich pigmentation, the effect isn’t immediately noticeable on the lips. 😀
The wear time for the Nykaa So Matte Nude lipsticks is on an average 5-6 hours without meals (but honestly, who stays without food for so long?:P) and around 4 hours, only with heavy snacking and meals. A coffee and a sandwich hardly harms this kind of pigmentation. And oh did I mention, these smell so much of caramels and vanilla? 🙂 The fragrance doesn’t hit hard on the nose, but pleasantly lingers along.
The Shades :
First off, I love the unique names that Nykaa comes up with for its products, be it for nails or lips. Both Caramel Mocha and Royal Honey are beautifully named. Appreciated. 🙂
21M Caramel Mocha – This is light warm brown shade that appears peachy brown on my lips.
22M Royal Honey – This is only a tad darker than Caramel Mocha, but has more pink undertones. It is also a brighter nude than 21M.
It is a little difficult to tell the two shades apart and I love both the shades. But if given a choice (tough would it be), I would go for Royal Honey for a daily wear as it brightens up the complexion still staying subtle, and Caramel Mocha to pair up with smoky eyes or sculpted face as this totally tones down a high-shine makeup. 🙂
Only if you look closely would you get the subtle difference between the two shades, Royal Honey being pinker than Caramel Mocha.
The Final Verdict :
The Nykaa So Matte Nude Lipsticks are an amazing presentation from the house of Nykaa and it is surprising to find that it has a plethora of nudes to choose from! I went for the lightest shades in the range and can wear both as MLBB shades interchangeably, because these are so close to each other in the nude color family. The lipsticks have become a staple in my everyday kitty and I love the creamy, non-bleeding formula, the intense pigmentation and rich color payoff. Only that they tend to transfer a lot but one cannot get everything in a single product! These are also easy on the pockets and each tube has a good quantity too. The fragrance is mild and the packaging sleek. Overall, I am quite happy with the The Nykaa So Matte Nude Lipsticks and looking forward to try their other lip products as well. 🙂
