Hello everyone! Just as we are making peace with the overwhelming Women’s Day wishes, I thought to share my review of the new MAC Viva Glam launch. 🙂 This time it’s Taraji P. Henson, the incredible lady we all remember from The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and The Karate Kid. In both she played a mother and touched our hearts. Although people love her in Empire now, I haven’t personally watched this show. But I believe she must be good in that as well. Anyways, coming back to MAC (pun accidental 😛 ), her Viva Glam range has a lipstick and a lipglass.
I picked up only the lipglass because :
- I have quite a few fuschia toned lipsticks in my stash at the moment, and don’t really need to add another,
- I have never tried MAC lipglasses as I’m not quite a gloss girl,
- The pretty sparkly color of the lipglass (fuschia is my weakness),
- The packaging of course 😉
Product Description :
Taraji P. Henson’s VIVA GLAM Lipglass. Her shimmery fuchsia shade of the much-loved M∙A∙C Lipglass. Flaunt your confidence and panache. Wear it alone or over Lipstick / VIVA GLAM Taraji P. Henson. Limited-edition packaging features Taraji’s signature.
The MAC Viva Glam Taraji P. Henson lipglass is priced at INR 1450 for 3.1 ml, and the lipstick comes for INR 1500 for 3g.
My Overview of the Product :
Well well it’s MAC ladies. So that says half of it. 🙂 The Viva Glam Taraji P. Henson lipglass comes in a transparent tube with a bright coral applicator. The body and the signature MAC box has Taraji’s autograph in sparkly red. A very chic packaging. The doe-foot applicator does a good job as in any other MAC lipglass. 🙂
The color of the MAC Viva Glam Taraji P. Henson lipglass is a pretty, pretty fuchsia with fine pink shimmer. Fuschia is my favorite color when it comes to perk up a dull face, or a dull day for that matter. I can imagine almost any skin tone to rock it. The color itself is gorg, and it can actually transform a look. I never had a fuschia lipgloss (though I have quite a few lipsticks), so I dared myself to go for it. I mean, it looked so pretty! Although I don’t quite like the stickiness of glosses and that’s mainly why I tend to avoid them in general. But then I had a hunch having no regrets over buying this one. 😉
The lipglass applied smoothly on the lips and did not accentuate fine lines. The pigmentation is so amazing. It felt quite comfortable on the lips and stayed on for a good 4 hours with only a some light snacks in between. The lipglass did feel slightly sticky, but only so slightly that can be ignored. And being a gloss, this transferred too but what amazed me was that the transfer was only so minimal!
The MAC Viva Glam Taraji P. Henson lipglass has a very mild sweet fragrance to it, that lingers along throughout the wear time. It gives an opaque finish in at most two swipes and fades quite evenly. Moreover, it feels quite nourishing on the lips. The shimmery hints in the lipglass give a luscious look to the lips, as they reflect lights in different angles and make the lips dazzle and shine. 🙂
The Final Verdict :
I totally love the MAC Viva Glam Taraji P. Henson Lipglass – the color, pigmentation and the fragrance. 🙂 The packaging is awesome too and the best part? It’s Viva Glam! That is, we donate as we get our faces made up. I love this concept from MAC and glad I could be a part of it. I wore it on its own, but it can also be paired over a fuschia lipstick for a more intensified look or for that added dimension to the lips. All really depends on where and how you wish to wear it. The color is so universal and will look good on all Indian skin tones.
Overall, the MAC Viva Glam Taraji P. Henson Lipglass is a complete winner in every aspect, and I’m glad I got it. 🙂
