Hi everyone! I had recently shared my haul pics from MAC Makeup Art Cosmetics Collection in this post. I have been trying out the products since, and today will review the 6x Eyeshadow Palette- Glamourize Me, from Diane Kendal’s creation. She has an array of products, palettes and duo-sticks, colorful kajals and mascaras created exclusively for MAC. I find palettes useful and handy, with quite many options to choose from. Some intelligently designed palettes are sleek and pretty travel-friendly too. So when MAC launched these many palettes from Kendal, I was spoiled for choice. 😛 Being initially torn between the lip-and-cheek crème palette and the cream eyeshadow palette, I finally let my fluttering heart settle for the latter. 🙂
Diane Kendal’s colours for eyes. All pearlescent finishes in light gold, reddish-bronze, royal purple, reddish-plum, navy blue and deep blackened-brown. Medium, buildable colour. Cream Colour Shadow formulas. Limited edition. Custom packaging in matte black with Diane’s signature in gold.

My Overview of the Product :
Glamourize Me by Diane Kendal is a 6 x cream eyeshadow palette. The palette has a sleek black packaging with a magnetic closure. The transparent lid bears the product name and signature of the makeup maestro in gold. All in all, the packaging is quite classy, just as I like in palettes. But this one is additionally visually appealing, with its pretty colors in the pan. :)The shades are an assorted mix of versatility. Each of them looks vibrant and gorgeous in the palette. The first shade, the lightest one in the palette, is a highlighter, and a beautiful one at that! The shadows are shiny, with oh-so-fine shimmers which reflect off lights beautifully. Even though the colors look very vivid in the palette, the good news is that they apply sheer. 🙂 And you can build up the color at your discretion!
I find the palette to be suitable for even daytime wear despite the sparkle factor. This is because the colors are so subtle that it will never make one look OTT. The texture is so creamy and smooth that I can easily apply them with just my fingers! It is just as easy as dabbing some of the shadow onto my lids, and patting with my fingers to spread it out evenly over the surface.
Below are the swatches of the eye shadows :

The pigmentation of the shadows is pretty decent and apt for all those who want only understated shimmers on the eyelids. I for one, don’t prefer glitters a lot but I am pleasantly surprised with how fine the shimmers in this palette are. 🙂 They’d only give the subdued shine and beautiful reflects to the eyes, that’s just the kind I love. The colors are quite buildable and don’t feel heavy on the lids. But if you’re seeking to create an intense eye look with these eye shadows, I’m afraid you can’t achieve what you want unless you combine powder shadows with these.
It’s best if you can wear these eye shadows with a primer. Particularly if you have oily lids like mine. Else they will find way to settle into creases in as less as 2 hours. (sob) 🙁 When worn on its own, the staying power is affected as well. These stay for around 3-3.5 hours on my lids without a primer. But totally scrunch up in the skin folds. However I have found a way to make these work. 🙂 What I suggest doing is:
- Use an eye shadow primer
- Apply any of the 6 cream shadows from the palette
- Complete your eye makeup using powder eye shadows.
The above steps should work and retain the eye makeup for a longer time without creasing, besides imparting more intensified color. I tried the above steps without a primer for the sake of experimenting. And the result was good enough. 🙂
The Final Verdict :
I am love with the colors in this palette. Each one of them are so so gorgeous. Each resonating the name of its carrier palette, Glamourize Me (sure, go ahead 😀 ). If you have powder shadows in same color families, you can actually create pretty dramatic eyes with these. Moreover these will work even better with glitter eyeshadows with the creamy base that it provides for the glitters to stick on to. The highlighter shade is also so beautiful. 🙂
I only wish I could use these on their own too. I even love the “pearlescent finish” and the silky texture, apart from the ease of application. The palette is pretty compact and I would love to carry it in my travel bags. Thanks MAC and Diane, for bunching up such pretty colors in one palette. The only sad part is that super oily lids cannot wear these lovely shades on their own. But for those with dry skin, this palette could be a bliss to work with. And one can vary the wearing longevity on the eyelids by building the colors up accordingly, and topping off with powder shadows. Overall, I’ll say MAC Glamourize Me is surely treasure in my makeup vanity. 🙂
