Hi everyone! Hope the start of the week is being fair to you. But ugh the ugly temperatures! Sigh. There’ so little we could do about this. But I highly recommend all of you to keep yourselves well-hydrated at the moment. These times also need us to take good care of our skin and hair. 🙂
MAC keeps launching new collections every now and then. Sometimes they come up with limited edition or brand new products, while at others they revamp the packaging of a few raved about products in their permanent line and launch them anew. Nevertheless MAC has always ensured that there’s something lucrative about all their launches. And they do it so well every time!
They had only launched the Colour Rocker Lipsticks last month, in a plethora of hues unimaginable. There were yellows, lavenders, and grays and greens. No, these ain’t my cups of tea. But certainly the matte finish of the range was something I fell for. No color range is complete without the scarlet family now, are they? Hence I picked up two shades from this range – Carmine Rouge and Forbidden Sunrise. 😀
Product Description :
Matte lipsticks to rock out with. These instant icons make a scene, delivering an adrenalizing hit of colour in 28 rebellious shades. Amp it up with lime green, bright golden yellow, fiery fuchsia and rich, riotous teal. Or go even louder into the madness with a plum-tinged noir, deep forest green or a smoky lavender-grey. Colour yourself fearless.
Each lipstick is priced at INR 1500 for 3g, and I got mine from Nykaa.
My Overview of the Products :
MAC Matte lipsticks are what every beauty addict must have in her stash. The Colour Rocker lipsticks have the standard MAC packaging in black and silver. The lipsticks have their signature vanilla fragrance which I totally love. I wonder who doesn’t? 😀
Forbidden Sunrise –
MAC describes it as “creamy orange“. A bright, burnt orange with warm undertones. I don’t wear a lot of orange lippies, but I had always wanted to try one. And I love Forbidden Sunrise. I was looking for Darling Clementine but sadly I didn’t get it on Nykaa or at the MAC store at Quest. Forbidden Sunrise is only more wearable, particularly for those who are not used to orange on their pouts. 😀
Forbidden Sunrise has a matte finish, good enough color payoff, and minimal transfer. The staying power is around 6-7 hours with only negligible fading. It stains the lips in a way that there’s always some color left behind until you remove it with a makeup remover. I am planning to put up a look featuring orange lips. Pretty excited about that! 😀
Carmine Rouge –
A beautiful rich red with strong blue undertones, which make it look pinker than warm red. It is this very gorgeous pink tinge in the shade that made me fall for this color. MAC describes it as “clean true red“. I’m fascinated with this shade, it adds such oomph to your attire. This is a rouge Indian brides can very well opt for, or even those of you who are bridesmaids at their BFF’s wedding. 🙂
The pigmentation and color payoff are ah-mazing, and it goes without saying for a MAC lippie. It has a creamy texture, did not tug on my lips while applying, and ended up with a semi-matte finish. This is not completely transfer proof, but certainly the transfer is only minimal. And I’m super amazed with the wear time as well. It stays as long as 8 hours on my lips with minimal fading. And I certainly did not skimp on meals for that duration. 😀
The Final Verdict :
I love both the colors that I got from the MAC Colour Rocker range. Forbidden Sunrise is a beautiful orange shade, and those of you waiting to try an orange for the lips, this shade’s your call. 🙂 Carmine Rouge on the other hand, is every woman’s color. 🙂 I am particularly loving Carmine Rouge for the rich shade that it is, its beautiful texture and impressive wear time. The collection has a pink or two as well, and you might want to check these out on Nykaa. 🙂
My Rating : 4.75/5
Do you dare yourself in wearing an unconventional lip color? If so, which color’s on your list? 🙂
