Hi everyone! Winter is receding now with spring gradually taking over. But my skin tends to behave quite the same throughout these 3 months. I find a need to switch from my regular skincare regime for oily-combination, to caring for a comparatively drying skin during this time. One product that I have been using devotedly over past few winters is the Liquid Neutrogena Pure Mild Facial Cleanser.
This is what Neutrogena says about the product :
Liquid Neutrogena® is pure and gentle cleansing for clean, clear, healthy-looking skin.
This glycerin-rich facial cleanser contains no harsh detergents. It removes excess oil and then rinses clean–without leaving any pore-clogging residue. Get clean, clear, healthy-looking skin with Liquid Neutrogena®.
- Non-comedogenic (won’t clog pores)
- Clean rinsing
The Liquid Neutrogena comes in a transparent plastic bottle with a black pump dispenser. Tasteful, I’d say. It retails for INR 299 for 150ml. It is easily available at Neutrogena counters or online.
The cleanser itself is a golden brown liquid and the transparent packaging helps in monitoring quantity. This is convenient for sure.
My Overview of the Product :
First off, kudos to the packaging. Neutrogena does a decent job in meticulously packaging its products. The best part – the pump dispenser. I have this thing with pump dispensers. They give me the much needed control over the amount of product that I would use. And the name sounds fascinating too – Liquid Neutrogena, eh? 😉
The facial cleanser has a gel-like texture and a runny consistency. And I don’t need a lot of it at a time. It doesn’t lather like foaming face washes, but does its job pretty well. Liquid Neutrogena Facial Cleanser is mild and gentle on the skin, and I can feel it cleansing from deep within my skin without stripping off its natural oils. It effectively cleans my skin after a day out, and even imparts a light cooling sensation that feels quite soothing. But no, this is not fragrance-free, rather has a sharp, musky fragrance to it when initially applied on the skin that fades when you wash it off. However I don’t find the fragrance to be bothersome. I’m happy with the job that it does. :)The facial cleanser is also non-comedogenic meaning it won’t clog pores, which is a boon for a majority of oily skinned women. It also claims to be hypoallergenic, and I, for one, can stand by it.
Quantity wise, the 150ml Liquid Neutrogena Facial Cleanser is more than sufficient to last 4 to 5 months, depending on your usage. But but, like most other Neutrogena products, this cleanser also contains parabens. 🙁 Otherwise, Liquid Neutrogena does a commendable job in its price range.
If you are looking to double-cleanse your skin, a good way to do so is by using a cleanser or cleansing balm as a first step. The Dot & Key Skin Cleansing Steam Balm is an amazing option for this step. It is enriched with coconut, macadamia, almond and argan oils. The rich formula is nourishing and mild, and makes for an effective cleanse-off. You can then follow it up with the Liquid Neutrogena Facial Cleanser to thoroughly clean up your skin. The double-cleanse method is a good way to ensure that your skin is free from all traces of makeup and grime!
The Final Verdict :
Liquid Neutrogena Facial Cleanser performs amazingly well in its category. This might even be great for those with dry skin in summers. I love the packaging (although it’s not convenient to carry around) and the consistency. It’s efficacy is certainly very impressive. If parabens don’t bother you, give this a try for sure.
