Hi everyone! Hope you are having a great week. 🙂 Over past few years we have seen the increase in production of lip crayons from various brands. There has been Clinique’s Chubby Sticks. And there has been Sugar, that initially launched with just four lip crayons which took the Indian market by storm. Bobbi Brown had her own range of Art Stick pencils, that were further innovated, resulting in the very unique squeezy tubes of Art Stick Liquid Lips. 🙂 Clinique recently went overboard with the crayon trend, and launched the Crayola range of Chubby Sticks in collaboration with Crayola crayons. The resemblance of the two seems so uncanny. But I’m eyeing them nevertheless. 😀
Within all the hype around lip crayons, there emerges our very own Lakme, with its very own range of lip crayons! And at an incredible price of INR 185! Want more? As an introductory offer, Lakme is providing a sharpener with each lip crayon for free! 😀 OMG OMG. These lip colour crayons came as such a surprise and shook the nation’s beauty industry. There is not a single soul out there who is not raving about this launch. Well even I am. 🙂
These lip colour crayons are a part of Lakme’s “Enrich” range. With ten shades to choose from, I picked up Baby Pink and Mauve Magic. And needless to say, I got two sharpeners with them. These are indeed so handy and now I have a backup too, in case I lose one. 😀 Sorry I don’t have the pictures of the sharpeners in the post.

My Overview of the Product :
Each of the 2.2g Lakme Enrich Lip Crayons resembles an art crayon. Each has a black plastic cap, and the label on the body has the shade name, and is color synced with the crayon color. Everything about the packaging is so cool. Totally love it!
The Lakme Enrich Lip Crayons are so easy to apply on the lips. These tug a wee bit while application, but I am revved up enough to not let a miniscule flaw affect me in any way. 😀 The tip ensures you maintain the boundary of your lips, while the slant on the sides can be very well used to fill them in. The tip may lose its precision with use, but that’s what the sharpeners are for!
These provide a medium coverage with a single swipe, and have a decent pigmentation. Both the shades that I own have silver sparkles, which may not be noticeable from a distance. The finish is semi-matte with a glossy surface. The formula feels very comfortable on the lips, thanks to the infusion of jojoba and olive oils. However the colors are not transfer-proof, but I did not expect it either. 🙂
The Lakme Enrich Lip Colour Crayons provide a wear time of around 5 hours, with a meal or snacks in between. These won’t survive a heavy meal though, and leave behind a faint tint of color. But nothing that can’t be mended with a touch up. 🙂 And the sleek, travel-friendly packaging ensures you can safely carry these cuties with you anywhere.
The Colors :
Baby Pink – This is a peachy pink, looks almost coral on my lips. Perfect for a daytime wear, looks better on pale complexions.
Mauve Magic – Ooh I love this color! A true-blue mauve, this one has a better color-payoff than Baby Pink. This shade will suit all complexions. A perfect daily-wear option for the summers. 🙂
The Final Verdict :
I love the practicality of lip crayons. And realistic prices of the Lakme Enrich Lip Crayons make these even more reachable. The packaging has a simplistic approach, and perfect for the ones bitten by the travel bug. These are easy to apply too and glide on smoothly to give a medium coverage in a single swipe. The wear time is decent enough, the colors lasting for around 5 hours on an average. I wish Lakme adds a few more shades to this range, I’m totally loving it!
It has been quite a while that the Indian beauty market saw a quality affordable lip color launch, and I’m glad Lakme did it in style. I am super impressed, and highly recommend all of you to grab one of these at the earliest! 😀
My Rating : 4.75/5
