Hi everyone! The weather grows harsher with passing days. My city is experiencing a maximum temperature of 33 degrees at the moment, and it’s only going to increase as April dawns in. Time that we start keeping our bodies well hydrated and take good care of our skin and hair. I have the Kama Ayurveda Pure Rosewater for review in this post today. 🙂
Product Description :
A wonderful Rose water that is made from the roses of Kannauj – a region in North India, rich in white soil conductive to roses’ growth. The Kannauj rose is considered special due to its similarity to the Bulgarian rose. The steam distillation process used to create this water ensures a high level of hygiene and unmatched purity. Rose water is a natural astringent that balances and restores skin’s PH level, helps tighten pores and acts as the perfect alcohol-free toner for oily or acne-prone skin. Its light cleansing and clarifying action helps in removing cleanser residue while readying the skin for further skincare treatment. A refreshing spritz that can be used to refresh the skin at any time of the day.
• 100% Natural
• Natural Astringent
• Balances skin pH
• Tightens pores and reduces oiliness
• Lightly hydrates
The Kama Ayurveda Pure Rosewater is available on Kama’s website, Nykaa and Amazon. The price is INR 250 for 50ml of pure bliss. 🙂 There is a larger version of 200ml at INR 950, but I prefer the smaller bottle for the ease of carrying around.
My Overview of the Product :
Well where to start? 🙂 The packaging is very convenient, with a spray nozzle to facilitate a spritz on the face. The bottle is a dark brown shade, the darker hue helps preserve the potion. The label is a very pretty rose gold color, resonating its contents and with the signature Kama golden border and lettering. I have noticed this unique thing with Kama’s cylindrical bottles. They are cut and carved at regular angles, that actually provide for a nice grip. A see-through click-on plastic cap covers the spray nozzle. Overall the 50ml package is very handy and fits easily in the bag. 🙂
The fragrance is very soothing and smells of roses. But it is only very muted and I love it. I have noticed that the fragrance actually has a calming effect on the senses as well. 🙂 I use the Kama Ayurveda Pure Rosewater in numerous ways.
- As a spritz on the face, whether to treat parched skin from sitting in the AC for hours, or to soothe tired skin from staying in the sun for long.
- As a spritz post using a face mask.
- On my tired eyes from prolonged sitting before glaring screens. I spritz it from over the eyelids and the effect is nothing short of amazing.
- As a toner when skin feels irritated and seeks relief from regular toners.
- As a spritz post removing makeup and cleansing.
- On my pulse points. 🙂
- As a spritz after exfoliation or using a face scrub.
- In face masks. It shows best results when you try it with DIY face masks, but I also tried it with a packaged dry one that a dear friend got me from Aroma Essentials (review following soon! 🙂 ).
On all above occasions, this rosewater has worked most effectively. However, I couldn’t find a major difference in its effect when used with the Aroma Essentials face mask from when the mask was used with plain water. The Kama Ayurveda Pure Rosewater is a bliss when skin feels dehydrated. It soothes irritated skin and provides adequate hydration. It also controls sebum production on my T-zone and feels gentle on the skin. I love using it after a face mask or scrub.
The label on the product says it can be used as a body mist as well. But I haven’t used it as one, because I find its fragrance to be pretty subtle. Nevertheless, if you want, try using it post bath and spritz on a whole lot of this on damp skin. I can imagine smelling like a garden of Kannauj roses for the next er, 2 hours? Can’t really comment on the longevity as a body mist as I haven’t used it as one. 🙂 But should smell heavenly. I have however, used it on my pulse points just for an occasional whiff of it, and totally loved it!
Pure rosewater, what else?:D But as always, Kama has put up the benefits of the flower on its website, which goes like this :
A symbol of beauty, purity and freshness, Rosa, commonly known as Rose, has soothing, healing, anti–bacterial, anti-inflammatory, and antiseptic properties. Rose cleanses, purifies, firms and tones the skin. It also treats dry and ageing skin. It gets rid of pigmentation, redness and swelling and is good for all kinds of skin tones. In the case of oily skin, it balances the oil content, and can be used for treating skin irritations and burns. Rose deals with inflammation of the scalp, strengthens dry hair, nourishes the scalp, moisturises hair roots, and promotes new hair growth. It also prevents outbreaks of skin problems like acne, pore block, blackheads, pimples, wrinkles and lines. It is used as an astringent to hydrate the skin, and to make it healthy, youthful, supple, fresh and glowing. Rose petals are a great way to relieve eye pain and headaches.
The Final Verdict :
The Kama Ayurveda Pure Rosewater is one rosewater for the keeps. Not only for its many uses, but also because of its fragrance, which is so soothing, so mesmerizing. It can uplift your senses after a tired day. The rosewater feels so pure and gentle on the skin. You can conjure anything and everything about serenity and bliss in your mind, while you spritz it on. 🙂 The calming effect is stunning on irritated skin and even on tired eyes. It soothes and relaxes the skin as well as the mind. I even love the packaging for its aesthetics and convenience. Finally I would say, the Kama Ayurveda Pure Rosewater is a mystical elixir for the skin that comes concocted in an equally pretty dark bottle. 🙂
My Rating : 4.75/5
