About the Product:
We bet removing makeup was never this easy and safe! Our Fig, Maple Syrup & Rose makeup cleanser not only strips out all traces of makeup and dirt from your pores but also nourishes and replenishes the skin. Maple syrup is a natural pore cleanser which also hydrates and tightens the skin. Rose helps extract accumulated makeup and oil from clogged pores and its astringent properties help tone the skin. It also delivers moisture to the skin and maintains its pH balance. Vitamin C enriched Fig seed oil boosts collagen and elastin in the skin making it soft, supple and brighter.
Caution: While removing eye makeup like mascara and eyeliner, we recommend using it on a bud and carefully wiping it off to avoid getting product inside the eye as it might sting.
Price: INR 550 (revised pricing) for 100ml. Click here to buy. You can also download their app to make purchases. Use my code REETUPARNA to avail a flat 15% off on all their products!
My Experience with Juicy Chemistry Organic Makeup Cleanser:
The first thing you will notice about this product is its classy packaging. The translucent, almost frosted glass bottle with a pump dispenser is so aesthetically pleasing to look at. Add to it the beautiful light-amber colored liquid contained within. The no-fuss labeling with required minimum details adorns the body of the bottle. Of course the cardboard box in which it comes packaged in has all the detailed information about the cleanser.
The pump dispenser is quite convenient to dispense just the amount of cleanser you’d need for removing your makeup. It also has a protective cover which prevents the dispenser from gathering dust. The glass bottle needs some careful handling though. But I’m not complaining because good-looking packaging is my biggest weakness. 🙂 The product feels just like water, superbly runny consistency that is easy to spray on cotton pads or reusable cloth cleansing swabs, and gets quickly absorbed. I also do not need a lot of product to remove a full-face of makeup; just 4-6 sprays are enough.
It is quite gentle on the skin and removes makeup like it’s no one’s business. Remember it does not have any artificial chemicals to pull off makeup and grime from the skin, but it still does its job quite well. However it needs a careful hand to remove eye makeup, particularly if you have sensitive eyes. Try not to use a lot of it at a time to remove eye makeup, rather use gentle swipes to remove color. It takes some time to remove waterproof mascara, but it definitely removes all of it. I however, did not face any noticeable stinging on my eyes. Since I generally tend to avoid heavy eye makeup, so this gentle makeup cleanser works absolutely fine for me. 🙂
I also tend to use it when I’m not wearing any makeup, but just my regular moisturizer and sunscreen. I have noticed it helps cleanse quite some of the dirt and grime from face which is accumulated from going outdoors. The Juicy Chemistry Fig, Maple and Damask Rose Makeup Cleanser can serve as the first step of cleansing quite easily, if you want to follow a two-step cleansing routine. The product also has very mild fragrance which is noticeable only on the closest contact, another feature that I love about this. It has a shelf life of 9 months from opening, so perhaps you’ll need to consider using it up quickly.
A little on the ingredients:
One of the primary ingredients in the JC makeup cleanser is maple syrup. It is a natural pore cleanser and exfoliating agent. Thus you can be sure that every trace of your makeup/accumulated dirt is swept off right from inside the pores!
Another primary ingredient is fig seed oil, which is rich in vitamins C and E. Vitamin E is another natural cleanser for skin, it also has hydrating properties. Vitamin C is a potent antioxidant.
It also contains rose and lavender hydrosols. These have astringent properties and help soothe and tone the skin. Hemp seed oil is another major ingredient of this cleanser. It is great for those having oily to oily-combination skin types. This is a non-comedogenic ingredient and helps clean out excess sebum or accumulated dirt and grime from pores. I already said it works great as a cleanser on days you’re not wearing makeup as well. Now you know for sure!
It also contains oils of olive, coconut and castor, which are utterly nourishing for the skin. Thus the JC Fig, Maple and Damask Rose Makeup Cleanser has a fantastic amalgamation of ingredients which cleans, refines, tones and nourishes.
The Final Verdict:
There is nothing not to love about the Juicy Chemistry Fig, Maple and Damask Rose Organic Makeup Cleanser. The glass packaging looks and feels premium, additionally it is an exemplary sustainable packaging. The pump dispenser makes things easy, while the consistency is perfectly comforting to use. The watery texture removes makeup like a pro, without hurting the skin on the face. I didn’t notice any stinging of the eyes, and love the fact that it doesn’t have a strong fragrance. I love using it on days when I’m not wearing makeup, and it effectively cleans skin from sunscreen and dirt. However I do wish the shelf-life was a bit longer. But if used on a regular basis, you might as well end it up within the stipulated 9 months!
