Hi people! Organic skincare and beauty products are in vogue now. Thanks to growing consciousness among consumers, more and more brands are coming up with sustainable and organic beauty recipes. One of the earliest brands to do so was Juicy Chemistry. Well this is not my first post about Juicy Chemistry products, if you remember I had genuinely benefited from their hair serum almost 2 years back. Here are the links to the posts:
My first ever lip scrub was also from Juicy Chemistry!
They have been evolving ever since and now completely revamped their packaging and modified certain ingredients in their existing products. Not to mention the plethora of new products they have included in their catalog! Juicy Chemistry is now recognized as an ECOCERT brand and this honestly makes me so happy. Their packaging is now more inclined towards being sustainable and eco-friendly, and all their ingredients are 100% organic. They never added any artificial chemicals, fragrances or colorants in their products even when they launched. JC is a perfect example of clean and green beauty brand!
About the Product:
“Revered as the “fruit of paradise”, Grapefruit is loaded with anti – oxidants and essential vitamins like A and C. It naturally exfoliates, detoxifies and brightens the dark bumpy armpits. It smoothens the underarms while renewing damaged skin. Enriched with essential fatty acids, Rosehip oil deeply nourishes and repair the skin under your arms. It heals damaged skin and improves the skin texture. Accompanied with a spicy – floral scent, Bergamot deeply cleanses the pores and keeps your armpits fresh and happening. No more curbing your desires, it’s time to flaunt every cut sleeves clothing dumped in your wardrobe. Free from artificial perfumes, pore clogging Aluminum, Alcohols, Chlorofluorocarbons, and other petrochemicals, and unlike antiperspirants, our organic deodorants do not interfere with the body’s natural process of detoxification by clogging the pores, nor does it mask the odor with a stronger perfume like commercial deodorants.”

My Experience with Juicy Chemistry Organic Deodorant Stick (Grapefruit and Patchouli):
If you are accustomed to the old packaging of JC deo sticks, you’re in for a pleasant surprise. Keeping with their promise towards contributing to the environment, they have switched over to a more eco-friendly packaging. Discarding the old plastic packaging, the JC deodorant stick now comes in a cardboard packaging. It may be a little different to handle at first, but all it takes is some practice. The deo stick comes out easy with a gentle push at the bottom. Post use, what you need to do is tap the lower rim of the tube on a solid surface gently. This pushes the excess stick back into the cardboard container.
The yellowish stick smells strongly of patchouli lined with a fresh citrusy aroma. The fragrance translates beautifully on to the skin but doesn’t smell as strong as in the tube. The sillage is fresh and smells more of patchouli. On the skin however, the top note of patchouli fades off to reveal a mild citrusy scent that stays along till the end. I find the fragrance to be a fresh tropical with earthy notes, and suitable for use by both men and women.
Now the thing with solid perfumes and deodorants is that they take time to dry down on the skin. As a result, you might want to wait a little before putting on clothes particularly if you’re stepping out of the house. Don’t worry, the deo is colorless and won’t stain your clothes. On another note, the deodorant stick feels actually hydrating and nourishing on the skin (thanks to its ingredients; a little on them is following right after). It doesn’t burn or make your skin writhe. I don’t use fragrance on freshly shaved armpits so can’t tell if it can make the delicate skin tingle. It has calming and soothing properties which makes the Juicy Chemistry Grapefruit and Patchouli deodorant stick a pleasant wearable. 🙂
Why should you opt for a natural deodorant stick like this one?
The Grapefruit and Patchouli deo stick from Juicy Chemistry is free from harmful additives that commercial perfumes have. It is devoid of aluminium and alcohols. Its natural ingredients will not clog pores or cause any harm to your skin. The fragrance is derived from organically sourced natural ingredients, which themselves have numerous benefits for the skin. Moreover, with solid deodorants as this, one only needs a little; so the tube is going to last for a long, long time even with daily use. Additionally, the packaging is easy and guilt-free to discard!
A little about the ingredients:
The major ingredient in this is grapefruit which is loaded with Vitamins A and C. It has fantastic antioxidant and exfoliating properties which can help in brightening of darker armpits with consistent use. It is known to improve skin texture but can take time to show results. So all you need is a little patience.
A good portion of the ingredient list consists of nourishing ingredients like shea butter, cocoa seed butter, apricot oil, beeswax, and coconut butter. These are the reason why your underarms will never feel irritated with this deodorant.
It also has rosemary and patchouli oils which have disinfecting properties. Peppermint and tea tree oils effectively protect the skin from acne while actively keeping the area cool and fresh.
It also contains arrowroot powder which helps maintain pH balance of the skin. Bentonite clay absorbs excess oil and sweat and helps remove toxins from the skin. It also has Vitamin E in the form of tocopheryl acetate, which contributes in healing of irritated skin and softening it.
Points to Note:
- The Juicy Chemistry deodorant stick can be applied and re-applied as and when needed. With its compact packaging, it is easy to throw in the bag and carry around. However, if you find the area of application turn sticky after 3-4 hours of wear, wipe off the area and re-apply the deo on a dry skin.
- Owing to the use of essential oils and natural ingredients, pregnant and nursing mothers should thoroughly check the ingredient list before applying anything on the skin. Given it contains rosemary, new and expecting moms would want to wait a little before indulging in the goodness of this solid deodorant. In any case, I would recommend you stay away from strong fragrances at this point of time, and opt only for gentle ones if needed at all.
The Final Verdict:
There is no arguing of the fact that Juicy Chemistry makes some of the industry-best products with high-grade, ethical ingredients. The Grapefruit and Patchouli deodorant stick is no exception. I love that it is 100% certified organic and natural, does not test on animals, is freshly made, vegan and is devoid of harmful preservatives, artificial fragrance agents and colorants. The brand is absolutely transparent about its products and sources of ingredients, making their products easy to trust.
I love the packaging, with the minute details mentioned clearly on the box and on their website. I genuinely enjoy the punch of goodness it delivers to the delicate skin. The fragrance stays anywhere around 3-6 hours depending on the weather, which is sufficient for a 100% natural deodorant. Must buy for all ages and genders, the Juicy Chemistry Grapefruit and Patchouli Organic Deodorant Stick is an absolute delight with its skin-loving ingredients!
