Hello lovely readers! How have things been at your end? And in case you’re going through a low, remember the night doesn’t last forever, and nor does life. So get up and get going. Cheers to a positive life!
Toners are an important part of skincare regime. My skin is oily-combination type, hence I need to change my toners with seasons. In humid summers I prefer light, watery toners, more of cleansing types, while in winters, my skin loves a thicker, more hydrating toner. I had heard quite a few good things about The Face Shop White Seed Brightening Toner, so when Nykaa had a bomb discount on this product right before winters, I immediately picked it up. 🙂

My Experience with The Face Shop White Seed Brightening Toner:
This toner has an unusual packaging, with a completely opaque body and a pump dispenser with a cap. It definitely feels sturdy in the hands and has a premium look to it. Overall an aesthetic packaging, but opaque body limits visibility of the toner content in the bottle.
So I started using it in the winters, as a 2nd or 3rd step in my skincare routine, day and night. I have used it in two ways: one, by dispensing some on a cotton pad and two, with bare hands. Method two was a savior in severe winters when I just took 3-4 pumps of this on my palms and patted it gently on my skin for absorption. Honestly, I love using this toner in whichever way. It did not give me any initial reactions nor did it cause any adverse effect later on. Just plain and simple, this toner dedicatedly worked as expected.
It has a mild fragrance, a fresh, floral type, which I personally like. However the same may be a put-off for those who dislike fragrances in skincare products. The product itself is a slightly viscous liquid, and has a milky consistency and color. Since it is a little on the thicker side, the toner liquid takes a while (only a little while) to get absorbed into the skin. But when it does, this insanely hydrates my skin! If you’ve used Dear Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner, then you’ll understand when I say it is a tad bit more thick and hydrating than The Face Shop White Seed Brightening Toner. But it is still great for combination skintypes like mine for the winters.
Just to test it a bit more, I kept a small quantity and put it to use at the onset of summer. I would method one in the warmer months and only 2-3 pumps would suffice. The Face Shop White Seed Brightening Toner turned out good enough for that time too. It didn’t cause me any breakouts or clog my pores. It would make the skin hydrated but I’ll admit, it did feel a bit heavy during mid-summers. So I would mostly recommend this toner for oily to oily-combination skin types for winters and spring. Dry skin people could however enjoy using it throughout the year. Oily-combination skins can too, depending on the humidity in their cities and how their skin receives it.
This toner also helped even out skin tone and improve skin texture. I didn’t see a major brightening effect although I’ll admit that skin appears healthy while you’re using this toner. It helped eradicate skin dullness and maintain a glowing complexion throughout. Moreover I even noticed that my skin looked and felt healthy on days I didn’t use it.
The Face Shop White Seed Brightening Toner is free from 7 additives including animal-derived ingredients, parabens, mineral oil, talc and paraffin. And that’s what I really like about this product. Predominantly this toner has a White Seed Complex which is nothing but a compound made from white lupin seeds and white daisy flower extract, aiming to fight skin dullness.
The Final Verdict:
The Face Shop White Seed Brightening Toner is definitely a pretty decent toner. If you are new to toners, you can give this a try because it’s so mild and gentle on the skin. It is even free from harmful additives, making it a safe option for all skin types. This toner is superbly hydrating and non-greasy, it evens out skin tone and helps maintain a fresh, glowing complexion. It has a subtle fragrance too, so watch out if you like your skincare to be fragrance-free (which is again a rare occurrence). I love how it makes my skin feel supple and plump, and does not feel greasy at all. You can opt for The Face Shop White Seed Brightening Toner if you’re looking for a hydrating toner that hydrates and maintains a youthful skin. It is often on discount in online shopping portals too!
