Hi everyone! Fuschia by Vkare is a brand that caters to bath and body and skincare through products made from natural ingredients. I like experimenting with handmade soaps and that’s when I came across the Fuschia soaps one fine day. So I picked up a set of five from Myntra. I have previously used their lip balms and reviewed them here. The first to trial from this set of soaps was the Fuschia Saffron Buds soap. The set also has four more variants –
- Bentonite Clay
- Lavender Buds
- Coffee Cream
All these components are known to work wonders for skin. I will be reviewing all in subsequent posts. 🙂

My Overview of the Product :
I have previously used a lot of natural soaps, starting from TBS to the ones from Jaypore. I even tend to pick up a piece or two from local boutiques when I am on a tour. Yes I’m a little bath-and-body obsessed. 😀 The set of soaps came in a pretty cardboard box that had imprinted “cruelty free“, “natural“, “handmade“, “SLS free” and “no parabens” on it. No parabens. Sigh of relief. 🙂
The Fuschia Saffron Buds Natural Handmade Soap itself is very simply packaged in a transparent cellophane and wrapped in a printed paper denoting the variant and ingredients. It has a yellow color, again a common manifestation for saffron products. However it has these brown spots on a face, that actually are saffron threads infused in the soap. The fragrance is also very saffron, and is actually quite overwhelming for my nose. Those who love the saffron fragrance may not have an issue with its smell, but I sure have.
The soap lathers moderate, as is expected from an SLS free soap, but it’s not a problem for me. Now if you happen to use the face of the soap with infused saffron threads, you may feel a very subtle exfoliation that feels good on the skin. I sometimes even have a strand or two coming off on my skin every time I use it. 🙂
The good part about the Fuschia Saffron Buds soap is that is does not dehydrate the skin. I still slather on moisturizer post using this, but that’s mainly because the saffron smell gets me nauseating. Nevertheless it is always recommended that you use moisturizers post bath. 🙂 I haven’t noticed visible changes in my skin after using this soap, but it’s pretty gentle on the skin and makes it soft and supple.
See how the soap is enriched with olive, coconut and sandalwood oils, besides saffron and glycerine? All these contribute to the moisturizing properties of this soap. It also has wheatgerm oil, known to prevent skin problems and work towards providing a healthy skin.
The Final Verdict :
Overall I’m quite satisfied with the results from using the Fuschia Saffron Buds Natural Handmade Soap. It is gentle and does not strip off moisture from the skin. It even has saffron strands instilled in it and I was pretty amazed at that. I never expected this from a soap but gets me happy thinking of the intelligent addition. The only con for me is its overpowering smell, which I can hardly bear. Hope the other variants are easy on the nose. If you’re OK with strong saffron smell, you can give this soap a try. 🙂
My Rating : 3.75/5
(The fragrance’s the only issue you see.)
