Hi people! I’ve been pretty caught up at the personal front, so apologies if you have been missing out on my posts. In the meantime however, I have been rigorously trying out two amazing body scrubs that are 100% certified organic and paraben free! Could things get any better for a bath-and-body-products’ addict like me, who’s also more inclined towards cruelty free and organic? 😀
The Fabeya Body Scrubs are sure a treat to the skin, and these are available in some drool-worthy variants. The brand sent across their Orange and Wine scrubs, and I have still been deciding which one I love more. 😛 Oh and if you are on Instagram do take a look at their feed. It is full of love for their products, from bloggers and consumers alike. Also take note of their handle – @fabulous_fabeya – I mean these guys know they’re doing a fabulous job and they’re well confident about it!

The Fabeya Body Scrubs are easily available on Amazon, each of the hefty 340ml tub is priced at INR 349. You may even avail discounts that the brand keeps running from time to time. Currently the Wine Scrub is available for INR 299. Well I did tell you they are crazy affordable!
My Experience with the Fabeya Body Scrubs :
The packaging was love-at-first-sight. While I do love luxuriously packaged products, did I tell you I have a thing for simplistic take on the same? The scrubs are neatly sealed in a transparent plastic tub with a screw lid. There is an inner protective layer that you need to tear to use the scrub. The packaging looks regal yet solemn, and feels sturdy in the hands with no fear of dropping and breaking. 5/5 for the basic packaging with more concentration towards what’s inside. A simple and user-friendly packaging significantly reduces the cost of manufacturing, and Fabeya does exactly that so you know you are paying more for the product and less for its looks. 🙂
The scrubs are quite similar in texture and consistency. Both of them use a creamy base, and I can see glycerin and aqua placed high on the ingredient list. This ensures that the scrubs have an emollient base and not too harsh on the skin. Both the body polishes use walnut shell granules of the same dimensions as the exfoliating agent. This is my second tryst with scrubs in a moisturizing core, after the Kama Ayurveda Kumkumadi Face Scrub.
I find the Fabeya scrubs quite gentle on the skin. Although Fabeya calls these Body Scrubs and Polishes, these are mild enough to be used on the face. These moisturizing scrubs are a boon to dry, dry-combination and normal skin types. I have oily-combination skin, and these work beautifully on my skin type too!
Now the scrubs can be used in two ways :
- Use with wet hands on wet skin – for a mild exfoliation. Take out some product with the hands, and use in clockwise or anti-clockwise directions.
- Use with wet hands on dry skin – for a more intense exfoliation. Just wet your hands and take out some product from the tub, use on the area where you might want a good exfoliating action. But make sure your hands are wet as you might not want a drag on the skin.
The Exfoliating Action –
Both the Orange and Wine Scrubs work effectively to remove dirt, grime and dead skin cells, leaving behind a fresh, cleansed skin. The Orange one feels a wee bit grittier than the Wine scrub. The scrubs help clean clogged pores too, but if you have blackheads accumulated over a period of time, don’t expect these to clean those up with just one use. No scrub can do that for that matter. That said, it does clean up recent pore blockages and whiteheads quite effectively, without hurting or drying out the skin.
I particularly find these perfect to use when my skin is feeling dry from hours of sitting in air-conditioned environments. These cleanse my skin giving a boost of hydration that feels so relaxing. 🙂 I need only follow up with a toner and serum or moisturizer. Post using the scrubs in bath, I only need a light moisturizer like TBS Japanese Camellia Cream, that too out of habit. My skin feels soft and smooth to touch, and hydrated from within.
I have been using these over spring and onset of summers, so the Fabeya Body Scrub + TBS Japanese Camellia Body Cream combination works perfectly for me. 🙂 The combo keeps my skin happy, healthy and nourished throughout the day.
Fabeya BioCare Natural Orange Body Scrub and Polish :
The star ingredient here is Orange.
“Vitamin C “Citrus” for Skin –
Oranges prevent skin sagging, and improve firmness. Oranges are extremely high in antioxidants. These help brighten the skin and give a natural glow. Orange, a citrus fruit contains Vitamin C that help prevent skin inflammation. Being an excellent source of vitamin C, orange can do wonders for your skin. Apart from the fruit itself, orange juice and even orange peels can provide a range of benefits to your skin.”
I simply love its fresh, zesty fragrance! It is such a mood refresher and I had seen results right on the first use. No kidding here. I used it as a face scrub at first, and when I actually saw my face in the mirror post wash, I was awe-struck! My face was literally glowing. It looked so fresh and radiant that I looked rested, while it wasn’t the case.
The Fabeya Orange Body Scrub and Polisher (I wish they re-name it as Face and Body Scrub), cleans in the most magical way, getting rid of tan, dirt and dead cells, revealing a fresh, well-rested skin. Its rejuvenating and brightening properties are pretty much evident! The citrusy fragrance additionally perks up the mood. It is a perfect go-to after a troublesome day, or before you catch up on your friends, or head for a dinner date or a family brunch. 🙂 This scrub also works on dark spots and blemishes, and starts to show results with consistent use.
My Rating for Fabeya BioCare Natural Orange Body Scrub and Polish : 5/5
FABEYA BioCare Natural Wine Body Scrub and Polish :
Star Ingredient : Grape Wine extracts.
“The word ‘Wine’ itself gives an emotional rush. Well, such is the intoxicating effect of red wine. Leaving aside the intoxication part, Grape Wine is one such ingredient which stops the aging of Skin. The antioxidant properties of wine help in getting the toxins out of the skin. This Scrub is packed with antioxidants like flavonoid, resveratrol and tannin, they fight free radicals and help maintain a youthful and glowing skin. They are rich in amino acids that boosts skin renewal and prevents sun damage.“
If you like wine, you’re going to love this scrub. 😀 This is more peachy in color, and additionally has trails of wine in its fragrance. Now no one minds a wine bath, do we?:P
Red wine derived from grapes that are known for their anti-ageing properties, is a powerhouse of anti-oxidants. And now that Fabeya has formulated such an amazing scrub from it, you don’t need to drink it to reap its benefits. 😉 It also helps protect skin against sun damage and induce collagen production. If you want the skin to absorb the goodness of red wine from this scrub, you may leave it on the skin for 5-7 minutes and then wash off.
Red wine also has great cleansing and toning properties which are visibly present in the Fabeya Wine Body Scrub as well. It has anti-inflammatory properties which soothes the skin and doesn’t cause any discomfort. This scrub too cleanses without drying out, and helps prevent breakouts. However here the brightening effects are not as distinctly visible as with the Orange scrub. But the skin feels firmer, while the hydration and skin-smoothening effects are similar in both the scrubs. At least I know now when to use which variant. 🙂
My Rating for Fabeya BioCare Natural Wine Body Scrub and Polish : 4.5/5
Despite being organic and natural, the products have 3 years of shelf life. The preservative they use in the scrubs is Ethyl hexyl glycerin aka EHG. It is a weak preservative with no health hazards and additionally works as a skin conditioning agent.
The Final Verdict :
Both the Fabeya Body Scrubs target different skin conditions, and aces their claims in most aspects. That’s what I find impressive. While both the scrubs can be used across ages and skin types, the Wine scrub can be well opted for those dealing with aging skin. Both of these are extremely mild and gentle, and show visible results. I have used it with 1-2 bumps on my face (pretty gently), and trust me when I say neither of the scrubs hurt any of it. But I still won’t recommend any kind of exfoliation with active acne or broken skin on the face.
Fabeya products are 100% vegan, organic, cruelty-free and devoid of SLS and parabens. The use of EHG for a greater shelf life is an insightful move. The best part? All of this organic goodness doesn’t cost a bomb. I must say I’m truly, highly impressed. Totally love the aesthetics of the product and ethical approach by the brand. I would highly recommend to get your hands on at least one of these!
