Hi everyone! The Quest Mall in Kolkata was the home to an interesting event hosted by Estee Lauder India this Saturday, the 10th of June. The #LoveLipRemix event was first of its kind in Kolkata and I could not afford to miss it. 😀 It was an event open to all and had blogger and YouTuber Debasree Banerjee as its guest. The sole aim of the event was to show how you could mix and match the thirty amazing shades in the newly launched Pure Color Lipsticks range, to perk up your lip game by a notch. 🙂
Estee Lauder has been a mark of sophistication over the years. However this time, with the new lipstick range, EL has the millenials its on radar. 🙂 Have you checked out Elle King’s Wild Love feat. Kendall Jenner for the Pure Love Lipsticks? Give a hit on YouTube, and take a look. I am totally in love with the number. 😀
The Pure Color Love Lipsticks come in four unique finishes, the Ultra Mattes, Shimmer Pearls, Cooled Chromes, Edgy Cremes. With the diversified finishes and shade options, Estee Lauder encourages all of us to play not only with lip colors, but with textures as well. I will jot down the few points that I took away from this event, and from makeup maestro Sadaf herself. She’s the education executive at Estee. She had the attendees awe-struck as she deftly carved out the best colors and looks for them. 🙂
star of the event – the pure color love lipsticks :
The lipsticks look so so pretty, don’t they? Even the bullet is so uniquely shaped, it’s called the fishtail shape(yeah, Sadaf told me that 🙂 ). It has two slants and the edge at the center. Sorry people, I don’t have the the picture of the bullet today. But be assured that a detailed post featuring a few lip loves from this range are coming up soon on the blog. And I will try to put up one or two looks as well with the same. Well I obviously couldn’t resist the urge to own a few of these beauties. 😀
Following are some glimpses from the event :
My Experience at the Event :
I was sporting a fresh dewy face for the event, mainly concentrating on highlighting and only a tinge of blush. Well I got my lip done by Sadaf at the event, and girl she was an experience I say. 🙂 I was keen on trying a two-toned lip ever since I saw Karen from Makeup and Beauty Blog sporting it with colors from the MAC Colour Rocker range. Sadaf actually took it up by a notch as she created one with different textures! I am wearing Rose Excess (matte) at the center of my upper lips, Bar Red (matte) at the corners. The lower lip has Flash Chill (Shimmer Pearl) all over and a Cooled Chrome shade (probably Moon Rock) at the center of the lips. Whew! Can you imagine all the drama on the lips? 😀
Few points that I took away from Sadaf at the event :
- Creating an ombre lip with a color of your choice all over the lips, and a nude shade at the center
- An inverse ombre lip that can be created by filling up the center of the lips with a darker hue, and a lighter or nude shade on the borders
- Applying a full-on matte lip, and adding some spice to it by layering it with a Cooled Chrome all over or just at the center
- Creating a two-toned lip by applying a color of your choice on the upper lips, and a color from the same color family on the lower lips. This can be further enhanced by having two different textures on the upper and lips, or by layering a Cooled Chrome on the center of both lips or even on either of the lips.
- Finishing off with soft edges on the lips, that is, smudging the line of the lips rather than defining them to create a softer, fuller pout.
And the list is endless. You can further innovate the points to create your own love lips. 🙂 The one range I totally feel one should takeaway from the range is the Cooled Chrome ones. There are three colors – Nova Noir, Moon Rock and Pocket Venus. These may not be easy to pull off when worn on their own, but actually make for an enticing layer over any color with their dense yet fine glitters. The Ultra Mattes are any Kolkata beauty’s love, and those at Estee Lauder agree with that. 🙂
My favorites are so many from the range. I totally fell for the mattes like I said, but also love Flash Chill which is a Shimmer Pearl, and Haute and Cold, an Edgy Creme. I wasn’t expecting a lot from the nudes in this range, apprehensive of whether they will wash out my complexion. But after I saw Sadaf weaving magic with Naked City on so many lips, I realized nudes are not always meant for wearing on their own. 😀
Thank you Sadaf and Estee Lauder for enlightening me with so many ideas. Lipsticks in any form have been my love since childhood. Or rather ever since I knew what lipsticks were. 😛 Poor mom. She had to sacrifice so many of her prized lipsticks in my urge to paint my pout. But I never realized I could go beyond layering full lips or wearing a two-toned lip. But now, equipped with all the knowledge, I’m ready to take the plunge in the game called Lips!
Did you by any chance attend the event, and we missed saying ‘hi’? Or have you attended an event of its likes in your city? C’mon people, talk to me in the comments below!
