Hello everybody! My Envy Box February 2017 arrived around 3 days back on my door. I was little excited this time as they said this month it would be an Indo-French edition. The box looked pretty with mint green color, and the printed Eiffel tower on it. Paris is a lover’s paradise, and I’m guessing it’s in keeping with spirit of the Valentine month that the box is themed. 🙂 I got 3 full sized products in this box, and a sample.
My Envy Box “Indo-French” Edition – Contents :
Gulnare – gold dust highlighter –
I have never heard of this brand before but it says it’s an organic skincare brand. The gold dust is set in the jar in a way that reminds me of lip balms that come in tubs. The highlighter is quite sheer and has very fine particles. I won’t apply it on my cheeks though, given I have few big pores. But it worked well on the eyelids, like in a way that one can go without eyeshadow but just this highlighter to give that muted sheen. But you need to set it well, as it bled on my oily eyelids after around 2 hours or so. I find that the shimmer in this is just as much as the shimmer in TBS’s Glazed Apple Shimmer Mist (reviewed here), and so this can work on the body as well. It is priced at INR 950 for a 20gm jar.
Avene Micellar Lotion –
This is the only sample sized product that I received in My Envy Box February edition. The Micellar Lotion from Avene is quite famous all across the world. It is said to be a “3-in-1 no rinse cleanser, toner and makeup remover based on a micelle principle that releases cleansing agents upon contct with the skin“. It really is an amazing product and cleans makeup without hurting the skin or leaving any oily residue. This micellar lotion is well suited for those with oily or sensitive skin. It comes for INR 1200 for 200 ml.
L’oreal Paris – Kajal Magique bold
The only product to have surprised me in this month’s box was a L’oreal Paris Kajal. I really didn’t expect a look-around-and-you’ll-find-it brand to have featured in the Indo-French edition! I mean Indo-French sounds exotic now doesn’t it? Nevertheless it’s always good to have an extra kajal around. I will put up a detailed review on this. It looks as black as my Lakme Eyeconic on a first impression, but while the latter has a waxy texture, the L’oreal one is more on the creamier side. It retails at INR 350 for 0.35 gm.
Votre face serum –
I have heard good reviews of this product and excited to try it out. It is priced at INR 1670 for 12 ml! (pricey eh? 🙂 )
The Final Verdict :
I have mixed feelings about My Envy Box February edition. The Indo-French thing sounded so luxe and I expected few good skincare ranges to feature in this box. While I’m fine with the Votre Face Serum and Avene Micellar Lotion, I’m really unsure of what I’d do with the 20 grams of gold dust highlighter. I avoid shimmer in general and there are only a few times when I’d dab on gold shimmer. As for the L’oreal Kajal Magique Gold, it could have been easily replaced by some other better option. No qualms though, an extra kajal is always useful. 🙂
Overall, it’s a total of INR 3100 worth of products in My Envy Box February 2017. Not a bad deal when you pay INR 850 for one month and INR 2250 for three! Check out the contents of last month’s My Envy Box “Happy New Year” edition here.
