Hope you’re still reeling in the festive fever. I think I’m too, because just as much I have nothing to do with Halloween, I just had to snatch the opportunity to do this post. I prefer going easy on makeup most times, but in today’s post I have looks that we all should try, at least once in a while! It took me quite some courage to step out of my comfort zone, and create some dark looks with a dose of Gothic. But again, a few of them are subtler versions that you can categorize under fall makeup as well. For a look or two, I put my creative hat on and let Pinterest inspire me. 🙂
I won’t be elaborating a lot on the base, as there’s a lot to talk about the color cosmetics. The base makeup has the Colorbar Perfect Match Primer, L’Oreal True Match Concealer, Maybelline Fit Me foundation and The Body Shop Fresh Nude Cushion foundation. Also for all the looks I kept my brows really stark and used the darkest shade from the MUA Brow Kit. It is a dark brown that works pretty well for me.
Hi everyone! Wish you all a very happy and blessed Diwali. You must be at your festive best and so must be your homes. 🙂 I’ve been juggling quite a lot between work, home and my blog. I actually did shoots for two posts in a day. Whew! Kinda exhausting, but I enjoy it so much.
Today I will share with you my favorite lippies for this festive season. I have my favorites from bot high-end and drugstore, and lippies with different textures. Since it’s autumn and festive, most of my favorites are richer hues, but I do have a few subtle neutrals as well. Please note that the list is a random order of my favorites, and it is not in any order of preference. 🙂 Read more
Hi everyone! Liquid lipsticks and lip crayons are the rage these days. Only recently I talked about the amazingly affordable bunch of lip crayons from Lakme. Almost every brand has launched something in either of these categories. Some has both. 🙂 Bobbi Brown has intelligently combined both these trends into a single product – its Art Stick Liquid Lips. The look and feel is very much that of a crayon, but the product is essentially a liquid lipstick. 🙂
Bobbi Brown had created waves with its Art Sticks, that were raved about all across the beauty universe. Taking the legacy further, it created a more convenient version of lipsticks, combining the crayon and liquid formula in a single Art Stick Liquid Lip. I have not personally experienced the Bobbi Brown Art Sticks, but I was intrigued by its Art Stick Liquid Lip concept. So picked up the shade English Rose.
Product Description :
Bobbi Brown’s super-pigmented, squeezable liquid lipstick. Delivers semi-matte, full-coverage color that’s creamy, moisturizing and lightweight. Plus, the long-wearing formula stays color true for gorgeous all day wear. Available in 16 nude, bright and bold shades.
Why it is Different :
Unlike traditional liquid lipsticks that can feel uncomfortable, Art Stick Liquid Lip glides on easily, feels lightweight and keeps lips comfortably moisturized.
How to Apply :
Squeeze as you apply, starting on bottom lip. Blot lips together, then apply on top lip. Layer to fill in any gaps.
Each Bobbi Brown Art Stick Liquid Lip is priced at INR 2600 for 5ml. Yeah it is pricey. 😐 Good news is, now Bobbi Brown is also selling on Myntra apart from Nykaa, and I picked up this product from Myntra.
My Overview of the Product:
The Bobbi Brown Art Stick Liquid Lip comes in a squeezable tube, with the liquid lipstick showing through the transparent body. It has a black cap protecting the slanting tip of the tube, which further enhances its look-and-feel of a conventional lip crayon. The packaging is pretty good. It has a refreshing citrusy fragrance, almost smells like a mint.
The application, supposedly easy, is actually the tricky part. As much as it may seem easy to squeeze and apply the color from the tube to the lips, it needs some practice to master the art of doing it perfectly. This is because the application may turn out to be a messy affair if you are not careful. The product tends to smear across the tip and you also may not get a sharp boundary with a quick hand.
However I will tell you what you can do. Squeeze the tube to bring up some of the color at the tip, and release it to let some of it get drawn in. The amount that remains at the tip now can very well be used to cover your pout. In case you need to layer, or cover up more, repeat the process. This way, the application is neater and product wastage is comparatively less.
The Bobbi Brown Art Stick Liquid Lip has a pretty amazing texture. It feels like butter on the lips and settles into a semi-mattefinish. The formula is creamy and lightweight, and spreads easily. It does not tug on the lips or enhance the fine lines, which I love. It does not dry out the lips at all, and sits comfortably for the next 6-7 hours. However it is not completely transfer proof, but you can blot out the excess at the time of application for better results. The pigmentation and color-payoff are excellent as well. The color never fades completely and leaves a strong stain behind.
The Shade English Rose :
I am in love with this color. 😀 It is a beautiful dusty rose shade, which can be applied sheer for a softer look, or can be built up for an intense color payoff. For the swatches in this post, I did not build up a lot of it. But even on layering, this color only intensifies and I love it both ways. 🙂
English Rose is a shade I will say you can wear all the year round, during the daytime or in the evenings. 🙂 It leaves behind a strong stain even after fading, and is easily removed with a makeup remover. I enjoy wearing it thoroughly, and it can equally complement your traditional outfits as your western ones.
This is How It Looks on Me :
I used metallic shades on my eyes, from the Coastal Scents Revealed Eyeshadow Palette. Also wearing –
L’oreal Paris True Match Concealer in N6-7-8 (Medium/Deep)
The Final Verdict :
The best part about the Bobbi Brown Art Stick Liquid Lip is its excellent formula. It is rich and creamy, does not tug on the lips, and does not enhance fine lines. The pigmentation is amazing and so is the color pay-off. It can also be layered with convenience, and settles into a semi-matte finish. The wear time is impressive as well, and leaves behind a strong stain. It feels moisturizing on the lips and provides for a comfortable wear time.
The only inconvenient part is its application. Although designed for ease-of-use, the product smears at the tip while application, and it’s best to clean off post each use. The price is on the higher side too. However, the shade range is pretty versatile and there’s a shade for everyone. I’m crushing over English Rose at the moment. 😀 It is a very pretty shade and I’m enjoying it to bits!
My Rating : 4/5

Hi everyone! I have been daring myself to wear purple lips for quite some time now. 😀 When MAC released the Makeup Art Cosmetics Collection, I grabbed the Retro Matte Liquid Lipcolor in Flamingo Road from Kabuki’s creations. I have been wanting to wear it ever since. Given the bold dash of color that Flamingo Road is, I decided to go little subtle for the rest of the face.
Hey everyone! The Body Shop has recently launched an array of makeup products under the banner “Sealed With A Kiss” and terms the products as Jacqueline’s Signature Line. The collection has eyeshadows, liquid matte lipsticks and even a cushion foundation! TBS seems to have hit right on the pulse of the market with the ongoing rage of liquid lipsticks and cushion foundations. The collection is comprehensive, yet versatile. Today I will review their Matte Lip Liquids. I picked up 5 of them in the shades Nairobi Camellia, Paris Peony, Sydney Amaryllis, Tahiti Hibiscus and Tokyo Lotus. The best part is that their makeup products are completely cruelty-free and stand for a guilt-free indulgence. 🙂
