The Body Shop Moringa Body Sorbet – Review

Hey everyone! As Cyclone Mora wraps its arms around coastal Bengal, my city is having its fair share of thunderstorms and rains. While the annual south west monsoons have ventured in the Deccan, Mora is prepping up the eastern region with its pre-monsoon showers. 🙂 The temperature over the last two days is near bearable now. But I wish I could just enjoy the rains with a cuppa and The Accusation. Sigh. Life as in dreams…

But I find other ways to perk up my day. With some colors and heady smelling products. 🙂 One indispensable component in my stash these days is The Body Shop Moringa Body Sorbet. To be using this after a cold bath in this weather makes for an icing on the cake. 😀

What’s moringa? This was the first question that popped up in my mind before I bought the product. With the advent of search engines in the likes of Google, knowing about anything in the blue is a breeze. So the moringa that TBS uses in this product is Moringa oleifera, essentially the drumstick tree! Who could imagine that? It’s nothing close to a mogra, with which it is easy to be mistaken for (moringa->mogra, you get the hang?) 😉

I have seen and been close to moringa flowers, whence as a kid I travelled to Jabalpur to my maternal grandparents. They had this tree in their lawn in full bloom during the hot months, and I would happily collect the moringa flowers scattered about. Their garden was the place I would spend most of my daytime in. You see I love flowers. I always have. That somehow translates into my love for good fragrances. And that’s why I adore bath and body products that make me feel closer to nature. You now know why TBS is a favorite. 😀

My Overview of the Product :

The packaging of TBS Body Sorbets are similar in that they all come in big, sturdy tubes with flip caps. The Moringa Body Sorbet is of a cream color, with a yellowish tinge. Anyways that is not as important as the product itself. 🙂

The texture of the sorbet is the most interesting part here. It’s not like a conventional moisturizer, rather a thick gel-like product. You squeeze it out of the tube and start spreading on the skin. And that’s where the fun lies. 😀 It immediately disintegrates into miniscule bubbles that sink into the skin as you continue massaging. The sorbet feels so cool against the skin, and I only need a light hand with this. It’s an easy-breezy and delightful application. 🙂

Now the fragrance. It smells predominantly of moringa flowers, with a subtle earthy note. That is how I would describe it. It is not an incredibly sweet floral, but a rich, lush fragrance that I quite like. In case you’re interested, do give a sniff to all their body sorbets at the store. You will likely find your own love!

The Body Shop Moringa Body Sorbet is just what my body needs at the moment. It’s perfect for the moist weathers, as it doesn’t feel sticky. It is extremely lightweight, yet provides sufficient hydration. Sadly though, it might not work for dry skin, or even for normal skin in winters. The texture of the product absorbs the body heat, imparting a cooling sensation. The reason I love, love using it in the tropical summers and monsoons. It feels so soothing against the skin, and I love how it relieves my parched skin and appeases my senses with its exuberant fragrance. 🙂

The Moringa Body Sorbet lasts on my skin for a good number of hours, and the fragrance lingers on for around 3 hours.
