The Body Shop Life Is... Body Mist

The Body Shop Life Is… Body Mist – Review

Life is…
Facing the unexpected,
Yet braving the storm,
Refusing to go down
And willing to go on…

Life is…
Learning to know yourself,
Fighting your own devils,
To sculpt out your inner strength,
From all grave perils.

Life is…
Laughter of innocence,
And family and friends,
Feeling of bliss and fortitude,
Amidst menaces multitude.

Life is…
Loving a lot and getting lost,
Blessed on a greener earth,
Glory of whose seeps through the veins,
Resplendent till we breathe our last…

Hello everyone! I couldn’t help but write some scratchpad poetry when I heard the name of The Body Shop’s line of fragrance, Life Is. 🙂 Well now when I was looking up on the internet, I realized this is not a brand new fragrance range. TBS did have some fragrance range called Life Is… some time back. Then it added Life Is… Gold to the range. However, once again with the “Gold” removed, TBS now leaves space for your imagination to weave in the meaning of Life Is… 😀

I picked up the Life Is… Body Mist when I wanted to pick up English Dawn White Gardenia. But the SA insisted I go with the new launch and so I did. White Gardenia, you’re still on my watch list; I’ll come for you soon. 😛

The Body Shop Life Is… Body Mist : Ingredients

Alcohol Denat. (Solvent/Diluent), Aqua (Solvent/Diluent), Parfum (Fragrance), Linalool (Fragrance Ingredient), Limonene (Fragrance Ingredient), Benzyl Salicylate (Fragrance Ingredient), Hydroxycitronellal (Fragrance Ingredient), Citronellol (Fragrance Ingredient), Geraniol (Fragrance Ingredient), Benzyl Benzoate (Fragrance Ingredient), Citral (Fragrance Ingredient), Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone (Fragrance Ingredient), Evernia Prunastri Extract (Natural Additive), Eugenol (Fragrance Ingredient), Denatonium Benzoate (Denaturant)

The Body Shop Life Is… Body Mist is priced at INR 1295 for 100ml. You can buy it online or from TBS stores.

My Overview of the Product :

The packaging is very much standard TBS Body Mist, a glass bottle with a pretty silver pattern crawling across the label. The metal cap is unusually lightweight and I really need to be careful in handling it. Overall, the bottle of mist looks pretty and dainty, however it needs caution while handling. I also won’t say it’s very travel friendly. I seldom have the dare to carry a glass bottle thrown in my luggage bag. Nope. Not a risk I would take.

The spray nozzle is quite convenient to spritz out the mist. It is initially liquid on the skin, but vaporizes almost instantly leaving behind the fragrance. Now the fragrance is not entirely floral or musky or fruity. It has soft spicy notes with subtle floral hints as well as mild citrus notes. The spicy and citrus notes are predominant with the initial sprays dying down with time unveiling a more floral sillage.

Now a fragrance reacts with your natural body scent, and that may result in slightly different end results on individuals. On me, Life Is… Body Mist settles with a mix of floral and soft spicy sillage. I wish it were more floral. I am so much more about delicate floral fragrances, or fresh aqua ones. But I do like Life Is… as well. 🙂 It’s a little different than what I generally wear, and a little meddled with so many blends, but the fragrance emerges to be crisp enough to be likeable.

Being a body mist, the staying power is only decent. Given the weather humidity these days, The Body Shop Life Is… Body Mist stays on for 4-4.5 hours on an average. I apply it on my wrists as well, and there it wanes off earlier given that the hands are worked the most.

The Final Verdict :

The Body Shop Life Is… is a decent fragrance for the summers. I am not head over heels in love with this, but don’t have a bad word either. It’s a little different indeed, but not unique. Sometimes the medley of notes is a bit confusing, but as it makes way for the floral notes, I quite like it. The packaging of the Body Mist is neat, but the cap feels a bit flimsy to me.

I personally feel this fragrance is more suited for evenings than for the daytime. The wear time is decent as well, but of course I expected a tad more. Because TBS. So if you’re someone who is not into floral or fruity fragrances, you can give Life Is… a try. But do give a sniff at the stores before you finalize on the purchase. To me, I’m glad enough that TBS woke up that poetic instinct in me with this product again after my last stint! 😀

My Rating : 4/5

(3.75 for the product, and 0.25 for giving me food for thought 🙂 )

I saw your post on instagram and was intrigued by the bottle and name. Lovely review, it sounds interesting to me that i could start the day with citrus and end at floral 🙂
