The Body Shop Frosted Plum Body Butter, Shower Gel

The Body Shop Frosted Plum Body Butter, Shower Gel : Review

Merry Christmas people! How’s your day been? Winters are finally here and I have already stocked up on body butters. 😀 And TBS does it best with its holiday edition. I couldn’t of course keep my hands off from them when they launched Frosted Plum in their holiday edition. I have had Cranberry, Frosted Berries and loved them, but I wanted a different flavor to try out this time. Vanilla chai didn’t tempt me much, and this gorgeous purple had my heart!

Additionally TBS was running awesome Christmas offers on its site, plus prices were slashed under the new GST slab. Did I need any more reasons to buy a few goodies? 🙂 So I picked up their Frosted Plum shower gel and body butter (you know, to layer that scent conspicuously), in addition to few of their classic and newly launched products. I had shared a picture on my Instagram too when I got my package. 🙂 You can find me on insta here, and give me follow for updates!

This comes in a transparent bottle with a matte-black flip cap. The gel is transparent as well, bears the signature color and fragrance of the Frosted Plum range. It is so fresh, sweet but not insanely sugar-coated sweet, and deep yet subtle. It lathers well, and leaves behind a soft, lingering fragrance behind, which is so reminiscent of chilly winters and Christmas times. I love its fragrance and I’m so glad I picked up two products to help make the scent stay longer on my skin. However, it does make my skin feel a bit dehydrated, and I feel the need of a moisturizer right after taking a bath with it.

Price – INR 545 for 250ml.

What TBS says about this :

“Treat your skin to 24-hour moisture and a fruity festive fragrance with our special edition, Frosted Plum Body Butter. Enriched with juicy winter plum extract from Turkey and delicate florals, this indulgent Body Butter leaves your skin feeling soft, moisturised and smelling sweet for the festive season. Delicately scented with our fruitiest festive fragrance.

  • Body moisturiser
  • 24hr moisture
  • Easily absorbed formula
  • Softens skin
  • Enriched with plum extract from Turkey
  • Scented with juicy ripe plum, and hints of pink peony and magnolia.”

There’s nothing new about the basic packaging of this body butter, however the blings and sparkles printed on the lid sets all mood for the holiday season. I love the color TBS has chosen for its Frosted Plum range, the intense purple with printed blings is so “fall”!

The body butter itself has a thick and creamy consistency, and a little goes a long way. It spreads like dream upon contact with the skin, and absorbs super fast. I love its quick absorption which makes life easier on occasions when I’m in a hurry (90% of the days I am, to be honest :P). It makes my skin smooth to the touch, and provides hydration skin-deep, which lasts for a good 7-8 hours.

The fragrance gets more intense with this product, and I love the fruity notes in it. It also has distinct floral hints and very faint musky notes, and I love the warm sillage. Being a self-proclaimed bath-and-body-products’ addict, I realize that a good body moisturizer can make your day. I love bath and body products that do well to my senses too, apart from being skin-loving. And the Frosted Plum Body Butter not only moisturizes well, but also enlivens my senses with its wonderful, uplifting fragrance. 🙂

However the fragrance lasts for not more than 4 hours, even on layering. The fragrance from the shower gel does not last more than an hour on its own. But this is how these perform on me, it may well perform otherwise on you. The smoothness of the body butter can be attributed to the presence of silicones in it. I, however, have no problem with that. None, whatsoever, with the body butter. 🙂

Price – INR 1445 for 200ml (being a special edition, it has a price tag wee bit higher than the regular TBS body butters).

My Rating : 4.75/5

The Final Verdict :

Overall, the Frosted Plum range from The Body Shop is an amazing addition to its festive season collections. Everything from packaging to fragrance is lusciously attractive, and I particularly love the body butter. The shower gel feels a bit drying in intense winters, so I may well use it in summers also. I think it will do a great job in the humid season as well. If you are a bath-and-body addict like me, and love experimenting with fragrances, you better get your hands on this range while its still winter!

Have you tried this range from TBS? Which is your favorite winter moisturizer?
